This week’s core topic was my thoughts on the Navigon MobileNavigator North America turn-by-turn GPS program for the iPhone, by far the most expensive app we’ve taken a look at and probably the largest in size as well. Super Freedom Friday: Spending a Week Back Behind Bars

We’ve secretly replaced Bob’s usually Jailbroken iPhone 3G with a non-jailbroken one for the last week- let’s see if he notices…. Well, OK- so that’s now quite entirely accurate, but for the last week Yunocchi has been ‘un-jailbroken’ for both practical reasons and to give me something good to write about here on Super Freedom Friday.

Toss-up Thursday: By the iPhone’s Light

Well, this wasn’t quite exactly what I had in mind for today’s Blog entry, but since it’s fresh in mind, I figured it was as good a time as any to talk about it. As we mentioned at the beginning of this week’s podcast, I’ve had some electricity issues over the last week due to the ice storm that some of my state is still digging out and recovering from. Throughout all of this one of the most useful tools I had was Yuno, my trusty 3G iPhone.

Super Freedom Friday: Um, what?

So, Kevin and I were discussing what we wanted to do in the way of regular Blog posts throughout the week- we already have (hopefully from here on out) the episode and show notes on Monday, the Aftercast Tuesday with all the things that didn’t quite make the show, and Gaming Wednesdays- and I suggested that I use one of the days to blog about something a bit different but still reasonably encompassed by our purpose of discussing Apps. Specifically, applications and functions uniquely available to Jailbroken iPhones like mine. So, for the first Super Freedom Friday, I’m going to start at the very beginning (a very good place to start…) with some general information about what Jailbreaking is and isn’t and why people do it.
